There has been a hotel at the corner of West Main and South Carroll Streets since 1871. The Park Hotel, pictured at the top in 1944, had undergone extensive remodeling in 1911, essentially creating a new building.
In 1961, this hotel was torn down and an eight-story hotel built in its place. Between 1984-85, an additional 80 rooms and suites were added, resulting in what today is recognized as the Inn on the Park.
