Photo Gallery: All Around Town In 1915, the City of Madison engaged Ossian Cole Simonds to create a development concept. His design respected the natural contours of the landscape. The first home in the Nakoma neighborhood was constructed in 1915. Over the next 50 years, the neighborhood witnessed the construction of 644 homes. Nakoma, originally outside of Madisons corporate limits, was annexed into the City of Madison in 1931. The Trusts 1998 annual Walking Tour took place in the Nakoma neighborhood. The Trust donated a portion of the Walking Tour’s proceeds to the association for the neighborhood marker. home |
